Crazy Cousins Get-together
Steve Ours is making the call
To all of the cousins of our generation (yes the picture includes some other generations, they can organize their own event) it is time for us to gather and reconnect with our roots. As we know “life is short” so let’s not let this opportunity pass for the “Crazy Cousins” (and the ones who keep them sane) to come together for a few days in July in beautiful Central KY. Whether you can come on July 24th (the official Crazy Cousin Day) and stay to Sunday or be here for just a small part of it, you are now officially served to come and be a part of history in the making. Below is a suggested itinerary and lodging options. Questions or suggestions are encouraged and can be channeled to Steve at asours@bellsouth.net or Randy at randy@thewoodfordclub.com. You never know a new Ours tradition may be in the making.
Tentative/Proposed Schedule
Wednesday - July 24
Cookout of burgers and dogs at the Clay House for those coming in early. 695 Craigs Creek Rd., Versailles KY 40383.
Possible 9 holes of golf in the afternoon.
Thursday - July 25
Golf, pool and chillin’ for the day. Start at 10am, play 9 holes stop for lunch and finish the back 9. Will allow some who are traveling to join us in the afternoon.
Dinner at The Woodford Club
Friday - July 26
Crazy Cousins Golf Shootout (we’ll put together some teams and friendly competition, no golfing experience required). Hanging out at the pool and can arrange a horse farm tour if there is some interest from the non-golfers.
The Lexington Legends Baseball team is in town that weekend. Game starts at 6pm. There are some fun venues at the park and get Crazy Cousin Recognition on the Game Board. https://www.lexingtonlegends.com/
Saturday - July 27
Optional outings: 1) Ark visit in Northern KY 2) Bardstown-An hours drive south with lots of distilleries, shops and eating options. 3) Historic Homes in Lexington 4) Hanging out at the pool at the Club
The Cousin Bash at the Clay House starting around 4 or 5. Barbeque and all the fixins. Games galore, hanging pool side, story sharing. If anyone has digital videos from our childhood or can put together slide pics we will have an outdoor screen and projector. Party as late as anyone likes.
