Hello Y’all.  We are closing in 90 days until we gather again in Versailles Ky. Those arriving on Friday interested in golfing or fishing can do so at  the course. There will be an outing using the course until 1:00.  Therefore we will play at least 9 holes and maybe more depending on the time to gather for dinner on Friday.  Fishing can be done anytime on Friday. There is one particular pond we are to fish.  Golf carts are available to get to and from the pond.  If there is any interest in a big fish and/or most fish contest we will plan that accordingly.  $5/person per event.  Fish anytime from 8am Friday till 4pm Saturday. Proof of size and count must be provided to win.

            Several improvements to Woodford Club have occurred since last year’s gathering.  A new golf pro shop has been built.  It not only has all the amenities of a pro shop but also has 3 simulator bays and an arcade.  A new kiddie pool has been added a long with new decking around the pool.  A 30x20 pavilion has also been added.  We will be gathering for dinner in the pavilion around 5:30 – 6:00.  The pool is available to us all weekend if you want to swim, sun bathe or just chillax.  The golf simulator bays and the arcade will also be available to us.  Each bay can accommodate up to six players.  This will be a great opportunity for everyone to try their hand(s) at golf, especially if you have never played.  No green fees, no clubs of your own, no lost golf balls and plenty of fun rain or shine in an air-conditioned environment.

            Saturday, based on interest and sign up, we have 2 events being planned and the use of the bus we had last year.  The bus pick-up will be at the HIE even if you are not staying there. 1st stop will be The Louisville Slugger Factory and Tour. Pre-booking is required. Standard Admission includes the factory tour, museum galleries, and a mini-bat. Tour will begin at 9:50 sharp. If not riding the bus be there at 9:30.

               Tickets – Adults $24.00/ Sr. 60 and up $23.00 Group rate 20 or more $19.00 and $18.00 Check their web site for more details such as custom-made bats with your name on it, brewery tour (not included in our tour) etc.

            2nd stop a cruise on the Ohio River and picnic lunch via either the Belle of Louisville or the Mary Miller.  Pre-booking and choice of picnic lunch is required. Visit their website for lunch choices and details of the picnic lunch cruise.

            Tickets – Adults $39.99/ Sr. 65 and up $37.99 Group rate 15 or more $36.99 and $34.99. The cruise will begin at 12:00 sharp. It is a short distance from the Slugger Factory to the boat launch.  Again, if not on the bus be there by 11:30. We will arrive back at the dock at 2:00.

            We will be meeting at Randy & Sue’s house for the afternoon and evening get together. Same as last year come anytime after 4:00. Their pool and hot tub are available. If you want to just hang out and are not sightseeing or touring, Randy said to come on.  Cousin Greg will be bringing his grill and cooking up some fabulous grub for us at the evening meal around 6:00. Like last year, we will have Euchre, other games and a special picture to identify (where are we, what is the occasion and the mystery?). Bring some $1 bills for your guesses. Winner take all. All ties split money evenly, coin toss or odd man out.  To help us plan, please be kind enough to tells us what day you are going to be there and your ETA, if you plan to be on the bus, do the tours or other sightseeing, what is your lunch preference. Don’t forget if you are planning on staying at the HIE to get the discount rate you must use the link sent for the Golf Trail.             One last thing, this year the 3rd generation, our children/ our 2nd cousins are invited. It will be up to each of you to inform them.  Thanks to all of you and I’m looking forward to seeing Y’all!!
